June 14th, 2022 – Spikeball – or roundnet – started out as a children’s toy in the 1980s. It is now becoming a trendy game, spreading through parks and beaches around the world.

9to5 Groningen spoke to Frank Buigel, a local Groningen Spikeballer, for whom it is more than a casual hobby. He is heading to the sport’s first ever World Cup in Belgium later this year.
